Laxe's Harbour and Lighthouse

Laxe's Harbour and Lighthouse

Laxe, famous for its beach almost two kilometers long, its deeply linked to the sea. The fishermen guild offers guided tours to the port and fish market facilities, and the locality counts with a Museum of the Sea, located on the old Casa Cuartel of the Guardia Civil, where they show documents and objects related to the everyday life on the Costa da Morte. This museum opens on weekends during the summer, and the rest of the year for organized tours with previous notification (Phone number 981706965 / 981706903; E-mail museo@laxe.dicoruna.es).
The lighthouse can be reached by car, though there's also a signaled circular route (PR-G 70 Laxe-Punta Insúa), that surrounds the Monte Insúa for five kilometers, starting from the population. There is also another route (PR-G 114) that follows the shore for 8 kilometers arriving to the Beach and coast Lake of Traba.
Apart from the natural and cultural heritage elements, it's also of note the neighbouring Protected Landscape of the Penedos de Pasarela e Traba, in the municipalities of Laxe and Vimianzo.
