Nature and Energy

The relationship between nature and industry becomes evident when we study the energy sources of a given territory. Raw materials such as coal, water, wind or the power of the sea along the shore line became, at set points in history, very valuable resources, conditioning the evolution and development of some zones of the province. The activity generated around these energy sources have created a very characteristic and unique landscape.

From the mines of As Pontes de García Rodríguez to the configuration of the Port of Ferrol, from the water falls for the generation of electric energy to the the wind farms... Resources that coexist with the old watermills, windmills and tidemills, a good deal of them situated on singular landscapes of considerable natural beauty such as in the Fragas del Eume or the Serra da Capelada and its cliffs.
