Located on a rocky mound between the rivers Eume and Sesin, in the heart of the Fragas do Eume, The Monastery of Caaveiro stands with incomparable beauty. This building underwent numerous interventions throughout its history.
Its origins go back to the tenth century, at which time the first news of the existence of monastic life in this place is known.
